Course Description

Units: 4.00 - UC:CSU, May Be Taken Once for Credit

Explores the structure, function and development of living systems from cells to ecosystems. No credit for BIOSCI-100 if taken after BIOSCI-106, 107, 107H, 201, 202, 204, 205, 215, 216, 221, or 250.

Course Information

You are required to attend lab every week at the scheduled time. You are also required to complete weekly online homework assignments. You will need to purchase the Mastering Biology access code in order to complete your online homework. All exams will be administered on campus during the lab period.

Student Learning Outcomes:

Lecture: Characterize the nature of science and scientific inquiry, and describe and analyze biological concepts from cells to ecosystems on a basic level.

Laboratory: Evaluate and analyze data and observations based on standard methods of scientific inquiry.

This new edition will be available for purchase only through the COC bookstore or download for free on the Distance Learning website starting in August, 2018.
